Socialization of PSBB Implementation in Lowokwaru District

Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – While conducting socialization of the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) at the Lowokwaru District office, Saturday (16/05/2020), the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji invited all levels of society to comply with the applicable rules, so that the implementation of PSBB in Malang Raya and especially in Malang City runs optimally, and the spread of Covid-19 can be suppressed as minimally as possible.

The Mayor of Malang gave directions during the socialization of the implementation of PSBB in the Blimbing District area

The bespectacled man said that the key to success lies in the level of discipline of the community, because no matter how good the rules are if the community is not disciplined and does not want to implement them, the results will not be optimal. "Residents must maintain a healthy lifestyle, including always wearing masks when forced to do activities outside the home, maintaining a safe distance, and carrying out activities at home," he said.

To build this discipline, it must be started and initiated with habits or getting used to each individual. Its implementation must also be top down and bottom up, so that there is balance and it runs massively. "In it there must be reward and punishment. Because until now our society is still ignorant in implementing the rules," he stressed.

Furthermore, Sutiaji said, various violations committed by the community so far, they actually already know that it is wrong but still do it with various reasons or excuses. "If our society remains like that, does not want to be disciplined, then the impact will be very fatal, and this outbreak will be prolonged," he continued.

"The people's economy will continue to decline, unemployment rates will continue to increase and many workers will not be paid or even laid off. Another impact that could also arise is an increase in crime rates which will also increase public unrest," explained Sutiaji.

According to him, PSBB is an option and must be implemented, because it is the right option in an effort to break the chain of spread and transmission of this deadly virus. "PSBB can be likened to a wound on our body and must be healed as soon as possible. When our body is injured, then activities will not be normal. Therefore, the wound must be healed immediately, so that other activities can return to normal," he explained.

On this occasion, Mayor Sutiaji also explained the distribution of social assistance for residents affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. Until now, there are at least 86.168 residents receiving social assistance and 76.691 of that number have been distributed. "Residents don't need to worry, because the database already exists and can be checked at sibansos.malangkota.go.id. Residents can access and verify anything related to social assistance on the website," he concluded. (say/yon)
