(malangkota.go.id) – The number of resilient villages in Malang City continues to grow. The awareness of the community and various elements is also increasing to present villages that are considered effective in suppressing the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. On the other hand, resilient villages are an effective means to deal with the impacts caused by the Corona virus.

So far, there have been at least 80 resilient villages that include resilient villages in terms of food security, health and security. Malang City is a pioneering area in East Java, because various elements such as the TNI-Polri, volunteers, academics and residents strengthen each other. In this village, the availability of food is met by donors and self-help and is integrated with doctors and other health services.
The productivity and effectiveness of this resilient village received appreciation from the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa. After reviewing a number of resilient villages in Malang, Wednesday evening (27/05/2020), the Governor of East Java appealed to all elements in it to continue to improve togetherness. Although it is currently good, it can be further improved so that efforts to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission are also more massive.
Governor Khofifah advised that coaching and/or mentoring from the TNI-Polri, local governments and academics be strengthened and intensified. The implementation of health protocols must be strictly monitored and those who violate them can be subject to sanctions according to the rules. "Such as wearing masks, not triggering crowds, maintaining a safe distance and doing all activities at home," he added.
From the resilient villages established in each RW, explained Khofifah, the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak can be suppressed as early as possible. With the increasing emergence of villages like this, the handling of the outbreak and the impacts caused will be more optimal. "So the existence of resilient villages like this will continue to be encouraged and emerged in every district-city in East Java," said the woman in the hijab.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who admitted that he would continue to strengthen the existence and role of the existing resilient villages. "In the future, the number of resilient villages will continue to increase and the handling of the outbreak and its impacts will be more effective," he explained. (say/yon)
