Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Since the new normal period was implemented (New Normal) on June 1, 2020, joint officers consisting of the TNI-Polri, BPBD, Satpol PP, Transportation Agency and Malang City Covid-19 Task Force intensively carried out control. Not only in modern markets, officers also controlled business premises that operate at night, such as cafes and other locations of mass gatherings.
In this new normal era, businesses that were previously not operating are now allowed, but must still comply with health protocols, such as only accepting guests at 50 percent of capacity, wearing masks and not gathering or maintaining a safe distance of at least one meter. However, even though several appeals have been made, many still ignore them.
Those are some of the things conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after conducting a raid on hangouts and rapid tests on cafe visitors, Thursday night (04/06/2020). Seeing the conditions as above, Sutiaji said that officers conducted rapid tests at random hangouts for young people.
"Of the 86 people tested, six young people were detected reactive and immediately underwent self-quarantine at their respective homes. In the next two to three days, they will be swab tested and if detected positive will be quarantined in a place that has been prepared by the Malang City Government to the hospital if possible," added the Mayor of Malang.
In addition to giving a stern warning to the cafe manager for ignoring health protocols and violating operating hours, officers immediately sprayed disinfectant. "For the next three days, the youth hangout must be temporarily closed and when it reopens, it must implement health protocols. If it still violates, its business license will be revoked," said the bespectacled man.
The various efforts made by the officers, said Sutiaji, were to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19, so that the number of infected residents would not continue to increase. On the other hand, in this new normal era with the start of being allowed to operate a number of businesses, the initial goal was with the hope that the wheels of the community's economy would start to stir.
But so far the new normal period seems to be misunderstood by most people and they assume that everything is back to normal or even as free as possible as if there was no outbreak. (say/yon)
