Klojen (malangkota.go.id) –The Malang Social Security Administration (BPJS) for Employment held Focus Group Discussions (FGD) themed 'The Role of Local Government in Providing Protection for Workers During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Malang City' in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall, Friday (5/6/2020). The Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji was also present accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Malang and the Regional Secretary of Malang City.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji when opening the activity expressed his welcome for this activity. Because by joining BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, it can further protect workers from unwanted bad possibilities.
"Like during the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced someone to stop working. The existence of BPJS Employment is very important," explained the mayor who is a badminton enthusiast.
Meanwhile, the Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Malang, Cahyaning Indriasari revealed that currently many people are still unfamiliar with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. However, actually if it is mentioned BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is the same as Jamsostek which is already widely known. "In Malang City, currently from the existing business entities and companies, only around 48,55 percent are participants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan," explained Cahyaning.
Through this activity, an understanding can be made about the importance of participating or becoming a BPJS Employment participant. The hope is that in the future all companies, business entities in Malang can become BPJS Employment participants. On this occasion, BPJS Employment of Malang City symbolically handed over two tons of rice assistance for Malang City residents affected by Covid-19. (cah/ram/yon)
