Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, traditional markets are still suspected of being one of the places where the Covid-19 outbreak is transmitted, so various anticipations and concrete steps must be taken so that the outbreak does not continue to spread and the community becomes more orderly in implementing health protocols.
In response to this, Saturday (06/06/2020), the Malang City Forkopimda gathered traders and market associations in the Malang City Hall Meeting Room to provide socialization regarding health protocols amid the pandemic. Although so far the community has been relatively orderly when going to the market, there must be further reinforcement. Such as the correct use of masks, washing hands when entering and leaving the market and maintaining a safe distance between visitors and sellers.
These are some of the things that were emphasized by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji to traders and association administrators when giving directions. According to the bespectacled man, association administrators must be more proactive in implementing health protocols in the market, such as in reminding buyers and traders when their masks are placed around their necks or in their pockets.
Some of the markets that are of concern include Pasar Besar, Kebalen, and Blimbing. "This is a shared task and responsibility. If we only rely on officers, the results will be less than optimal. On the other hand, traders and visitors must have high awareness so that the transmission of this virus can be suppressed and even prevented," he continued.
At this moment, a number of traders and association administrators asked for tighter supervision in the market and supporting facilities that are not yet available should be brought in immediately. Like the hand washing place that needs to be added, even those that are not yet available must be provided immediately in the near future.
From several proposals and requests from traders, the Mayor of Malang agreed and will soon realize them in the near future. "Traders and association administrators should also coordinate intensively with related agencies. Thus, what is needed in the market can be realized soon," he appealed. (say/yon)
