A number of public facilities are suspected of being vulnerable to being intermediaries for virus transmission, such as public hand washing places. From this phenomenon, SMK PGRI 3 Malang City has succeeded in making an innovation by assembling a special tool so that when washing hands there is no need to touch the water tap.
Innovation named Scarwish This has also been mass produced since the last few weeks and has been installed at eight points in the school environment. The creation of this automatic water tap is more of a response to public concerns about the spread of the covid-19 virus through water taps that are opened and closed manually. Because hand washing places, especially in public places, are used by many people, making them prone to virus transmission.
Ahmad Abdullah as the supervising teacher in making this tool said that the tool that was successfully created and assembled can be installed on an existing water tap. So for those interested in using this tool, there is no need to buy a new hand washing place or a package with the tool. "With "The minimum and even no touching of the water tap when washing hands will be more practical and also minimize the triggers for virus transmission," he added, Tuesday (16/06/2020)
Ahmad said that the way this device, which costs around Rp. 250 thousand, works is very simple, namely that anyone who wants to wash their hands simply has to bring their hands close to a point under the water source where the motion sensor is installed."J"When touched, water automatically comes out for a few seconds without having to be held by the hand. Similar steps can be repeated shortly after the hands need a rinse after washing with soap," he explained.
Although it is still in the early stages and will continue to be improved and innovated, at least according to Ahmad, this tool is starting to be of interest to teachers in this school and several other schools. "Later, this tool will be mass-produced and will be patented so that it is not easily claimed by other parties," he concluded. (say/yon)
