Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Starting Tuesday (23/06/2020) a number of access roads towards the Kedungkandang Bridge will be closed as the construction of the Kedungkandang Bridge begins. As with the direction of Jl. Ki Ageng Gribig, two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles that are not heavy vehicles are allowed to pass Jl. Raya Kedungkandang Gang 7 which is located about 200 meters north of the Kedungkandang Koramil.

From this route, road users who are heading to Bumiayu or Bululawang will exit from Jl. Kyai Malik Dalam, to the left towards Jl. Mayjen Sungkono. Meanwhile, from the direction of Jl. Mayjen Sungkono who are heading towards Jl. Ki Ageng Gribig or Sawojajar can go via Jl. Kyai Malik Dalam which will exit at Jl. Raya Kedungkandang Gang 7
Drivers can also pass through Kedungkandang Market to go to Malang City Square or to Sawojajar, but for heavy vehicles, pass through Jl. Rajasa which goes to Gadang Market. While those from the direction of Ampeldento can pass through the Sawojajar or Cemorokandang areas.
Head of Malang City Transportation Agency Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP, M.Si said that this must be done, because there is heavy equipment that is deployed for the initial construction of the bridge. "We have placed officers around the bridge so that there is no traffic jam," he said.
For residents around the bridge, he said, those who will enter and exit are still allowed if they have to pass through the area where the heavy equipment is, because this is still early work and has not been completely closed. "If residents have needs that are only about 500 meters away, they are still allowed, so as not to disrupt the activities of local residents," Handi added.
From monitoring in the field, currently there is still one heavy equipment that is dredging the land. Several officers from the Environmental Service are moving plants that are still planted in other places and a number of personnel are digging and repairing PDAM water channels. Later, road access around the Kedungkandang Bridge will be completely closed if it is indeed required. (say/yon)
