Malang Mayor Opens Alms Market and Promotes Covid-19 Prevention

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji opened the Alms Market activity held in the yard of Balai RW 07 Jl. Pelabuhan Tanjung Emas, Bakalan Krajan Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Sunday (28/06/2020). On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang who was present accompanied by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP also participated in fitness exercises and provided socialization on prevention Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The residents who participated in this series of activities appeared to be disciplined in implementing the Covid-19 safe health protocol. This was evident from all residents wearing masks, washing their hands, and maintaining distance when participating in fitness exercises.

In his speech, the Mayor of Malang conveyed the importance of maintaining health. He also appreciated what RW 7 of Bakalan Krajan Village did by holding this free exercise and charity activity. "This activity is very good. I hope it is not only held once, but can be done continuously," Sutiaji hoped.

Seeing the community who have been disciplined in following health protocols by wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance, Sutiaji is confident that the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Malang City can be resolved soon. The main hope is how to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission by disciplining the implementation of health protocols.

Meanwhile, the Head of RW 7 of Bakalan Krajan Village, Anam Ismawanto, expressed his pleasure because the Mayor of Malang was able to attend the event held this time. "We hope that the presence of the Mayor of Malang can inspire the hearts of our citizens to be more concerned about health and protecting the environment," explained Anam.

In RW 7, which has 500 people consisting of 130 families, Anam said that they also have problems and needs, including the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure to be able to hold various activities. "Like the RW 07 Hall, we built it independently. We hope that in the future it will be given more attention," said Anam.

Anam added, although currently the RW 7 Hall has been established, it still has shortcomings to hold various activities. The shortcomings include the absence of electricity and the need for a drilled well to be able to meet water needs. (cah/yon)
