Starting Today, KAI Daop 8 Operates Two Long-Distance Trains

(malangkota.go.id) – Starting from July 3, 2020, PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya will again operate two long-distance train trips from Surabaya to Jakarta. The two trips are the Turangga train and the Kertajaya train which only operate on certain days (not every day).

Turangga and Kertajaya Train Schedule

The operating days of the two trains include at the beginning of the month until mid-July 2020, operating on Friday to Sunday only (3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 July 2020). Then at the end of July 2020, operating from Thursday to Sunday (30 July to 2 August 2020).

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Suprapto, Friday (03/07/2020) said that the Turangga train from Surabaya Gubeng-Gambir/PP via the southern route with stations passed including Madiun, Solo, Yogyakarta, Kroya, Banjar, Bandung and ends at Gambir-Jakarta Station, and vice versa. The series used in the Turangga train are four executive class train cars and one luxury class train car with a total capacity of 166 seats.

KA Plb 77b / KA Turangga on the Surtabaya Gubeng – Gambir route, departs from Gubeng Station at 16:30 WIB, arrives at Bandung Station at 05:20 WIB and departs again from Bandung Station at 06:05 WIB, then arrives at Gambir Station at 09:19 WIB.

Meanwhile, KA Plb 78b/ KA Turangga on the Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng route, departs from Gambir Station at 14:00 WIB, and arrives at Bandung Station at 17:18 WIB and returns from Bandung Station at 18:05 WIB, then arrives at Surabaya Gubeng Station at 07:07 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Kertajaya train has a relation from Surabaya Pasar Turi – Pasar Senen/Jakarta, via the northern route passing through stations including Bojonegoro, Semarang, Cirebon and ending at Pasar Senen Station. The Kertajaya train carries a series of five economy class train cars with a total capacity of 280 seats.

"PLB 255a train on the Surabaya Pasar Turi - Pasar Senen route, departs from Pasar Turi Station at 21:05 WIB and arrives at Pasar Senen Station at 08:36 WIB. Meanwhile, Plb 256a on the Pasar Senen - Pasar Turi route, departs from Pasar Senen Station at 14:10 WIB and arrives at Pasar Turi Station at 01:24 WIB," Suprapto added.

For people who want to get the Turangga and Kertajaya train services, they can order tickets through online services such as the KAI Access application, the official KAI website, Indomaret, Alfamart and channel other official external.

"Online ticket reservations can be served D-7 before the train departs. The station counter only serves ticket sales GoShow or direct sales three hours before the train departs," explained Suprapto.

In total, in the PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya area in July 2020, there were seven medium/long distance train trips, including:

  1. Turangga train has a route from Surabaya Gubeng – Bandung – Gambir (South route)/return.
  2. The Kertajaya train has a route from Pasar Turi to Pasar Senen (North route)/return.
  3. Maharani train runs from Pasar Turi to Semarang Poncol/v.
  4. The Probowangi train runs from Surabaya to Gubeng – Ketapang/Banyuwangi/round trip.
  5. Tawang Alun train connecting Malang Old City – Ketapang/Banyuwangi/return.
  6. Sritanjung train/train 302 – 303 on the Lempuyangan – Surabaya Gubeng – Ketapang route.
  7. Sritanjung train/ train 304 – 301 on the Ketapang – Surabaya Gubeng – Lempuyangan route.

This long-distance train journey has implemented a Covid-19 prevention health protocol, according to the standards set by the Ministry of Transportation, so that prospective passengers must comply with and implement the specified SOP. Health protocols for long-distance/medium-distance train passengers include:

  1. Using a mask.
  2. Wash your hands in the place provided at the station.
  3. Each has prepared hand sanitizer.
  4. Show a PCR test certificate with negative results, or a rapid test certificate with non-reactive results that are equally valid, namely 14 days upon departure.
  5. Show a certificate stating that you are free from influenza-like illness symptoms issued by a hospital/health center doctor for areas that do not have PCR and/or rapid test facilities.
  6. Use a face shield and protective clothing (jacket or long-sleeved clothing).
  7. Keep your distance (physical distancing).
  8. In healthy condition and there are no symptoms of influenza, cough, fever and/or shortness of breath.
  9. The boarding process is carried out independently, witnessed by a boarding officer by showing a ticket, valid identification and a Covid-free certificate or a doctor's certificate according to point 5.
  10. Use a face shield when entering the train.
  11. Take the seat as stated on the ticket.
  12. It is prohibited to occupy seats that have a prohibition sign, which can cause a violation of physical distancing.
  13. Masks and face shields must still be worn from the departure station, during the journey until exiting the parking lot at the destination station.
  14. Be willing to have your body temperature checked by the officer at any time.
  15. If during the trip you experience Covid symptoms, influenza symptoms or body temperature > 37.3 degrees Celsius, then the passenger will be transferred to the isolation train and then dropped off at the nearest station for further examination by a doctor.
  16. Download and activate the Peduli Lindungi application on your mobile phone device.
  17. Passengers from/to Jakarta must have an Entry and Exit Permit (SIKM) for the DKI Jakarta region, except for sectors exempted based on DKI Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 47 of 2020. (say/yon)
