Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The 2020 Regional Conference of the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB) of Malang City was held in the Meeting Room of Malang City Hall, Tuesday (7/7/2020). The situation that remains conducive in Malang City thanks to the togetherness of interfaith in this City of Education is an important message from the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji at this Musda.
Sutiaji said that Malang City, which has such a diverse society, is known for its harmony between religious communities. Therefore, this condition must continue to be maintained so that in the future Malang City will be more conducive.
"Malang City is famous for its interfaith harmony which is quite conducive. However, we are still lacking when it comes to interfaith harmony. Therefore, on this occasion I entrust this matter to be one of the concerns in the upcoming work program of the Malang City FKUB," he said.
The Mayor of Malang also expressed his gratitude for the role of the Malang City FKUB which has been actively involved in creating conduciveness in Malang City. "The large number of residents with diverse religions and beliefs requires special attention and good handling so as not to cause social unrest in the community, and the Malang City FKUB has carried out its duties optimally," added the bespectacled man.
With the development of society, Sutiaji said that the challenges of FKUB in the future will certainly be increasingly difficult, a small example is in the efforts to handle the Covid-19 pandemic which is currently a common problem. Where it is not only difficult to handle it, but also very difficult to provide good education to the community. The reason is that the large amount of conflicting information in cyberspace makes it necessary to be more careful in filtering information so as not to be wrong in responding.
Chairman of FKUB Malang City Ahmad Taufik Kusuma admitted that FKUB's future tasks will certainly be increasingly difficult. According to him, various coordination and friendship must continue to be carried out so that FKUB can play more roles in the community that can bring benefits. (cah/yon)
