Non-Cash Transactions at Malang Raya Gas Stations Increase

(malangkota.go.id) – Since the implementation of the new normal adaptation, Pertamina has implemented Covid-19 prevention protocols across all lines of the company's business. One of them is by conducting a trial of implementing non-cash transactions at all 80 gas stations in the Malang Raya area, or what is known as the PSBB Gas Station Program (Joint Cashless Gas Station Implementation).

Non-cash transactions at a number of gas stations have increased drastically

Transaction enforcement cashless at gas stations throughout Malang Raya, this has been implemented since July 1, 2020 as the first phase, with a trial of non-cash transactions via the My Pertamina application carried out on one side of the lane at the gas station.

Before the PSBB gas station program was implemented, non-cash transactions in Malang Raya averaged only around 2020 transactions per day in June 878. After the first phase of the PSBB program was implemented in one month, non-cash transactions increased by 185 percent, to around 2.500 non-cash transactions per day. Even in the 3rd week of July, the average non-cash transactions at gas stations throughout Malang Raya reached more than 3.000 transactions per day.

"The increase in non-cash transactions to almost three times more is an indication that gas station consumers in Malang Raya have begun to adapt to new habits, to maintain the health of themselves and their families," said Unit Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR Pertamina MOR V, Rustam Aji, Saturday (08/08/2020).

This program, he said, was implemented as a form of support for new normal adaptation regulations, such as Malang Mayor Regulation Number 19 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of a Productive and Covid-19 Safe Society in Malang City, which states that non-cash payments should be prioritized.

In addition, Pertamina also supports Bank Indonesia's program in promoting the National Non-Cash Movement (GNTT) which encourages non-cash transactions. "In response to this, Pertamina strives to continue to actively participate in preventing the transmission of Covid-19 and is ready to support GNTT," added Rustam.

In addition to Malang Raya (Malang Regency, Malang City, and Batu City), this program is also implemented in 182 other gas stations in the Malang Sales Area. The gas stations are spread across Banyuwangi, Jember, Lumajang, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Situbondo and Bondowoso.

As is known, the use of objects that are touched by many people, including cash, both paper and metal, should continue to be reduced during the Covid-19 Pandemic, because the virus that causes Covid-19 can be transferred from one person to another through cash. "Because non-cash payments or commonly called cashless proven to be a practical, safe and efficient method of financial transactions," added Rustam.

Not only increased transactions cashless At the Malang Raya gas station, Pertamina also recorded an increase in fuel consumption such as Pertalite which increased by 10% from the total consumption in June of 21.000 KL to 23.000 KL (kilo liters) in July, Pertamax which increased by 14% from the total consumption in June of 4.300 KL to 4.900 KL in July.

"In diesel fuel, Pertamina recorded an increase in consumption of Dexlite by 32% of the total consumption in June of 316 KL to 420 KL in July and Pertamina Dex which increased by 16% of the total consumption in June of 202 KL to 235 KL in July," explained Rustam.

With increasing transactions cashless This, Pertamina hopes to provide convenience in transactions at gas stations for loyal customers of Pertamina products. "Various promos for customers are always present in the My Pertamina application. One of them is a 30% cashback that applies to all people with a maximum cashback of IDR 15.000 starting from August 1 - 31, 2020," concluded Rustam. (say/yon)
