Health Centers in Malang City Will Be Closed in Rotation

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – On Sunday night (23/08/2020), the Malang City Covid-19 Task Force confirmed that there were medical personnel at the Kedungkandang Health Center who were confirmed positive for Covid-19, so the Health Center located on Jl. Raya Kedungkandang, Malang City was temporarily closed starting Monday (24/08/2020). The closure is planned for the next three days and will not provide services during that time because the health center building will be sprayed with disinfectant liquid every day by officers.

During the closure, services were diverted to the health center on Jalan Ki Ageng Gribig, which is about three kilometers from the Kedungkandang Health Center, and also diverted to the Saiful Anwar Hospital in Malang. Medical personnel and employees immediately carried out self-isolation and underwent rapid tests and swab tests. If the results of the two tests show additional exposure, the health center closure period can be extended.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who is also the Head of the Malang City Covid-19 Task Force, said that his party would carry out tracking or track the spread of the virus and tracing or tracing close contacts of exposed people. At the Kedungkandang Health Center, at least 66 employees have undergone quarantine and undergone rapid tests and swab tests.

Later, the Mayor of Malang said that a number of health centers in Malang City will also be temporarily closed in rotation to suppress and break the chain of Covid-19 transmission, especially among medical personnel. On the other hand, it is also so as not to trigger and emerge new clusters in the spread of the virus.

Other efforts that will be taken by the Malang City Covid-19 Task Force when the health centers can start operating again are to reduce working hours and the number of people served and to tighten the implementation of health protocols. In addition, residents are also advised to always be vigilant but not to panic excessively and most importantly to be disciplined in implementing health protocols so that they are not easily exposed to the virus.
