One of them is by conducting a trial of implementing non-cash transactions at 80 gas stations in the Malang Raya area, or what is known as the PSBB Gas Station Program (Implementation of Joint Non-Cash Gas Stations).
Malang Retail Sales Area, Gustiar Widodo, Saturday (05/09/2020) said that the implementation of the transaction cashless at gas stations throughout Malang Raya, this has been implemented since July 1, 2020 as the first phase and August 1, 2020 as the second phase. In Malang Raya, non-cash transactions in Malang Raya averaged only around 2020 transactions per day in June 940.
After the implementation of the first phase of the PSBB program, Gustiar added, Pertamina in July recorded non-cash transactions increasing 2.5 times, to around 2500 non-cash transactions per day. In August as the second phase until August 27, Pertamina recorded an average daily transaction of 4.300 non-cash transactions per day.
"The increase in non-cash transactions is an indication that gas station consumers in Malang Raya have also begun to adapt to new habits, to maintain the health of themselves and their families," added Gustiar.
In addition to Malang Raya (Malang Regency, Malang City, Batu City), this program is also implemented in 182 other gas stations in the Malang Sales Area. The gas stations are spread across Banyuwangi, Jember, Lumajang, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Situbondo, and Bondowoso.
As is known, the use of objects that are touched by many people, including cash, both paper and metal, should continue to be reduced during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Because the virus that causes COVID-19 can be transferred from one person to another through cash.
“Not only increased transactions cashless At the Malang Raya gas station, Pertamina noted an increase in fuel consumption, such as Perta series (Pertalite, Pertamax) which increased 6% of total consumption in July from 24.600 KL to 26.100 KL in August. In addition, consumption of Dex-series (Dexlite, Pertamina DEX) also increased 11% of total consumption in July from 540 KL to 600 KL in August," explained Gustiar.
With increasing transactions cashless This, Pertamina hopes to provide convenience in transactions at gas stations for loyal customers of Pertamina products. "With the increasing utilization of transactions cashless, the community can be proactive in breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19, in addition, Pertamina also continues to emphasize to all gas stations to implement health protocols at gas stations, such as the use of Personal Protective Equipment, face shield, and implementing a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) for all employees at the gas station," concluded Gustiar.
