Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of Handling of Covid-19 in East Java was held at the Bunga Butik Resort Club, Batu City, Friday (11/09/2020). This coordination meeting was led directly by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and attended by the ranks of the Forkopimda throughout East Java. On this occasion, regional heads throughout East Java were ordered to further strengthen their synergy with the ranks of the TNI-Polri in efforts to control the global outbreak which is still massive until now.

Governor Khofifah said that with the existence of regulations related to sanctions for violators of health protocols from the central to regional levels, anyone who ignores health protocols must receive strict sanctions. In Presidential Instruction Number 6 of 2020 concerning increasing discipline and law enforcement of health protocols in the prevention and control of Covid-19, it is clear what the sanctions are.

For regents/mayors who have not yet outlined it in a regional regulation or mayoral regulation, the former Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs appealed to immediately create derivative regulations so that when sanctions are imposed, there is already a strong legal basis. Moreover, currently in East Java, Covid-19 cases continue to increase and many new clusters have emerged, such as families, offices, companies, regional head elections and Islamic boarding schools.

Governor Khofifah also encouraged the economy to continue moving by optimizing the potential of each region. The reason is, the increasingly massive outbreak from the East Java Provincial Government survey data shows that the reason residents ignore the implementation of health protocols is due to economic factors. "And even though people actually know what they are doing is wrong, and or violates the rules, economic reasons are the main trigger," he explained.

The economic contraction in East Java is currently at -5,90 and in the next month or two, the woman in hijab is targeting to be plus one percent and no longer minus. She added that every regent/mayor should also be able to optimize the existing budget, because so far a number of regions have still had minimal budget absorption.

"Of the 33 regencies/cities, the Greater Surabaya area is still the highest supporter of the continued spread of the Covid-19 outbreak. However, what is worth appreciating is the high recovery rate of patients in East Java, which is 78,93 percent. However, residents must remain disciplined in implementing health protocols," explained Khofifah.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who was also present, revealed that Malang City is indeed vulnerable to the continued increase in Covid-19 cases. He gave an example that in Malang City there are many banking offices and other large offices, one of the large referral hospitals is also in Malang City.

In a number of large offices, Sutiaji explained, employees and officials are certainly highly active, namely going in and out of other cities which can trigger the transmission of the virus. "Therefore, we continue to intensify control together with the Forkopimda ranks and ask the East Java Provincial Government to understand all of this, so that concrete steps can be taken later," he said.

In addition, the Mayor of Malang also hopes that the data related to Covid-19 patients and/or victims are truly real and in accordance with conditions in the field. "Data from districts/cities should be synchronized with the East Java Provincial Government, so that the determination of red, yellow, orange to green zones for each region is more transparent," he explained.
