Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Helping to raise the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products in Malang City, Doktor Mengabdi Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang took real steps. Among them was by providing assistance in the form of a sausage-making machine for the Anugrah Mina Lestari fish business located on Jl. Gilimanuk Gang 4 Malang City.
With this assistance, the processed fish products of UMKM Anugrah Mina Lestari are not only more delicious in terms of taste, but also speed up the production process and are more attractive in terms of packaging.
Lecturer of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, UB Malang, Hartati Kartikaningsih, said that this assistance was provided as one of the activities of the 2020 Doctoral Service Program. This was done to help MSMEs to become more empowered with the support of adequate technology.
"So far, many of our students have interned at UMKM Anugrah Mina Lestari. So this is also a return from us to be able to help UMKM develop more rapidly," Hartati hoped, Thursday (17/9/2020).
Before handing over the aid, Hartati said that she had conducted a survey and identified the needs of the Anugerah Mina Lestari MSMEs with the aim of ensuring that the aid was right on target according to the needs of the MSME actors.
Hartati added, before providing assistance this time, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Brawijaya University, had collaborated with Anugrah Mina Lestari for the past two years. Therefore, by continuing to collaborate and provide assistance, it is hoped that the products of these MSME actors can be more competitive.
In addition to machine assistance, Doktor Mengabdi UB also provides assistance so that UMKM products have high quality standards and have good packaging. For that, in addition to providing machine assistance, technical assistance is also provided to make good packaging and open a wider market both in terms of offline nor .
Meanwhile, the owner of UMKM Anugrah Mina Lestari, Demetrius Bambang, admitted that he was happy and appreciated this assistance. According to him, this assistance is very helpful in developing production. This can also be a very good capital to better provide knowledge to students who are many interns here.
"I want by studying in our place, students can have sufficient experience when they are no longer studying on campus. Be it related to fish farming, fish processing and also marketing," said Bambang.
By being able to share knowledge and experience well, Bambang hopes that in the future, the business he manages can produce many entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector. He said that it was a great pride to be able to share with the younger generation so that they would be confident with their abilities.
"We hope that by having sufficient provisions, students who do internships at our place can become entrepreneurs in the future, not just students who simply graduate and can become employees," Bambang hopes.
Bambang admitted that he was very serious in educating interns at the business he managed. All the knowledge he had was shared with the younger generation so that they would have strong self-confidence to become entrepreneurs. (cah/yon)
