Madyopuro Terminal Has Opportunity to Advance to National Level of Healthy Terminal Competition

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The government continues to strive to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak and prevent the emergence of new clusters. In this regard, the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with the Ministry of Health held a Healthy Terminal Competition. This is because terminals are one of the strategic places for virus transmission, because they are the center of mass crowds from various regions.

The jury team conducted field verification of the Healthy Terminal Competition at Madyopuro Terminal

Madyopuro Terminal in Malang City, which is a type C terminal, is one of the participants competing with terminals in several regencies/cities in East Java such as Blitar, Ngawi and Situbondo. The criteria for assessment include the implementation of health protocols, checking the body temperature of officers and drivers, the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure such as health rooms, smoking areas and breastfeeding rooms are also assessment points.

The head of the Healthy Terminal Competition jury team, Mulia Utama Putra Alam Siregar, Tuesday (22/09/2020) while conducting field verification at the Madyopuro Terminal revealed that holding this competition will also motivate each region to continue to innovate in making various improvements in the terminal area. "This is also an effort to break the chain of transmission of the Covid-19 virus and will provide comfort for the community while in the terminal," he explained.

Mulia Putra who is also the Head Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Region XI of East Java Province advised that the terminal can also function as a service center for the community.

Therefore, because it is currently a pandemic, the implementation of health protocols must be carried out strictly and anyone who violates must receive strict sanctions according to applicable regulations. Regarding the assessment and opportunities in this competition, Mulia said that the Madyopuro Terminal has a great chance of qualifying for the national level.

Similarly, Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that his party is optimistic that they will be able to advance to the national level to represent East Java. "From this field verification, whatever corrections or shortcomings from the jury team, we will definitely fulfill them as soon as possible and as well as possible," he said.

The bespectacled man added that various infrastructure facilities will be added to the Madyopuro Terminal and it will also become a... rest area. The presence of a toll road entrance and exit adjacent to the terminal location and the route to Mount Bromo and Semeru is a major capital in the development of this terminal in the future. "We provide comfort and security optimally for residents who stop at this terminal later," said Mayor Sutiaji. (say/yon)
