Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Processing and utilizing waste is a must for a clean environment and healthy citizens, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic like today. If citizens are healthy, they will not be easily attacked by viruses or any disease.

This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, during the World Clean Up Day event. (World Cleanup Day) in RW 3, Sukun Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Wednesday (23/09/2020). Maintaining cleanliness, according to him, should be a necessity and no longer an obligation.
"From compulsion it must become a habit, from innovation it must also become a behavior that brings benefits and finally becomes a need, not an obligation. In giving birth to a good habit, it does require a process and support from all parties such as the RT, RW and Lurah heads," added the bespectacled man.
Later, in every RW there must be a waste bank and in every agency, they must make it a habit to maintain cleanliness so that it can be an example for the community. "From this behavior, let's share kindness and sharing is not only with money or goods," he invited.
In this event, the Mayor of Malang appreciated the various concrete steps taken by residents of RW 3, Sukun Village who have a healthy lifestyle culture. In addition to having various creativity, such as making batik and masks, residents have also sorted waste based on its type. (say/yon)
