Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – So far, violations of Human Rights (HAM) still often occur even though from the data submitted to the National Commission (Komnas) HAM the scale is still relatively small. However, this must be suppressed and cases minimized. Of course, all of that is not easy and must be done together.

That was what was conveyed by the Chairman of Komnas HAM, Ahmad Taufan Damanik when opening a virtual discussion with a number of local governments. Including in Malang City which was attended by the Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City Zulkifli Amrizal, S.Sos, M.Si, in the Room Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Malang City Hall, Wednesday (30/09/2020). This discussion discussed the Standard Norms for Regulating Freedom of Religion and Belief (SNP-KBB).
Taufan added, in addition to religious and community leaders, a regional head must play an active role in suppressing and even preventing various cases of human rights violations. "From the human rights violations that often occur, it will certainly affect the stability of a country or region, therefore, all factors must be anticipated," he said.
The same thing was conveyed by the Commissioner of Komnas HAM, Sandra Moniaga. According to her, although everyone has the right or freedom to embrace religion, it must be regulated in such a way. "If the understanding of freedom is interpreted as free as possible, it will have a bad impact, especially in religious life," she continued.
Meanwhile, Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City Zulkifli Amrizal, S.Sos, M.Si said that in Malang City it is relatively conducive. Especially so far through the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB), life and harmony between religious communities are quite conducive.
"Some time ago, the Mayor of Malang visited places of worship of recognized religions. The program is a concrete step from the Malang City Government in maintaining religious life. If for example there is an indication of conflict that may lead to human rights violations, we can resolve it well," he explained. (say/yon)
