Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded housing developers in Malang City to immediately hand over the Infrastructure, Facilities and Utilities (PSU) assets that are their obligations when building housing or settlements to the local government. This was conveyed by Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli Siregar when attending the handover of PSU by ten housing complexes to the Malang City Government (Pemkot) at Malang City Hall, Wednesday (7/10/2020).

"We welcome the handover of PSU today, because this shows a real commitment, both from regional heads and developers to work together to improve asset governance in the Malang City area," said Lili, Wednesday (7/10/2020).
On that occasion, a total area of 14.211 square meters of PSU was handed over from ten housing complexes with an asset value of Rp28,4 billion. Meanwhile, the target of the Malang City Government until December 2020 is 57 housing complexes to hand over PSU with a total estimated value of Rp369,9 billion.
Lili said that the handover of housing and settlement PSU from developers to the government is important because the facility is the right of the community. By handing over the PSU to the local government, Lili said it will guarantee the sustainability of PSU maintenance and management in the area.
As an institution that has a function trigger mechanism or other institutional drivers, the KPK has different duties and authorities from other law enforcement institutions. Among these authorities are coordinating, supervising, and preventive efforts through assistance to all ministries, institutions, and central and regional agencies.
"The regulation of PSU is one of the focuses in improving regional asset management which is one of eight intervention areas for improving regional government governance. The KPK encourages regional governments to collect developer obligations, while reminding developers regarding these obligations," he said.
The handover of PSU, Lili continued, basically must also have the principle of accountability, so that it can be legally accounted for in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, contains elements of legal certainty, can guarantee the availability of PSU in accordance with the standards and layout approved by the local government, and in accordance with the needs of the community.
Lili also reminded that the handover of PSU should be guided by the principle of openness so that the public can directly access information related to the handover process. "Then for PSU that has been handed over, it is necessary to immediately record it as property of the local government," he said.
The KPK's activities in Malang City are part of a series of working visits to several other areas in East Java Province. For the next two days, Lili and the KPK's Regional Prevention Coordination Task Force will hold a corruption prevention coordination meeting with the Mojokerto City Government, Madiun Regency Government and Ponorogo Regency Government.
