Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – After qualifying at the East Java Provincial level in the Healthy Terminal Competition, now Madyopuro Terminal is advancing to the national level. This is a very extraordinary achievement and is the result of synergy between various parties.

This was conveyed by Malang Deputy Mayor Ir. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko when receiving the jury team for the Healthy Terminal Competition in the Malang City Hall Meeting Room, Thursday night (15/10/2020). The jury team consists of the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi added that Malang City has tried its best to create a healthy terminal. "This program is also a concrete step in suppressing the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak which can be triggered from the public facilities sector," he said.
"With maximum preparation, we are optimistic that Madyopuro Terminal will become one of the healthiest and best terminals in the nation. On the other hand, so far, Malang City residents have also aspired to make a city that has various tourist destinations, including those based on healthy terminals," explained the bespectacled man.
Furthermore, Bung Edi explained that so far the Healthy City Forum has also provided education for the community to reduce and even not do activities in the river. And currently the program has been realized well," he said.
Meanwhile, the head of the jury team, Adi Sambodo, said that Malang City is one of the best cities in Indonesia, and some of its terminals are no exception. "This competition is one of the priority programs of the central government. We want to change the bad impression of the terminal into a pleasant place," he explained.
No less important, said Adi, during the Covid-19 outbreak, terminals have become one of the triggers for the transmission of Covid-19. "Therefore, we are doing various ways to suppress this, and one of them is through this Healthy Terminal Competition," he continued.
"In the future, the central government through the Ministry of Transportation will also reorganize terminals that do have good criteria and are worthy of being included in various competitions. This program must of course be supported by local governments, from the provincial to district/city levels so that the results are also optimal," concluded Adi. (say/yon)
