Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – In addition to being disciplined in using masks, getting used to always washing hands using soap in running water is one of the effective ways to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. This is the basis and reason for residents of RW 1, Tunjungsekar Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City when commemorating Global Handwashing Day (Global Handwashing Day), Thursday (15/10/2020).

Hundreds of residents from 11 RTs also participated and campaigned for the correct way to wash hands in the hope that this would become a habit for residents, especially in the midst of a pandemic like the current one. Involving officers from the Malang City Health Office and health activists, community leaders in Tunjungsekar Village worked together to provide various hand washing facilities.
Acting Head of Lowokwaru Sub-district, Hariadi Budhi Handoko, S.Sos hopes that after this event every resident can invite their family members to always wash their hands, especially after doing activities. In every resident's house or precisely in front of the house, it is recommended that there should be a place to wash hands so that if there are friends or relatives who come, they can immediately wash their hands.
The importance of always washing hands was also conveyed by the Head of RW 1, Tunjungsekar Village, Ahmad Kasim. This is also because so far many residents have died and been exposed to the Covid-19 virus, so that in the future it is hoped that no more residents will be infected with the dangerous virus.
In this event, residents also distributed masks to road users who did not wear masks. Soap for washing hands and leaflets on how to wash hands properly were also distributed to be installed in their homes and become examples for local residents. (say/yon)
