Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – To encourage the growth of the digital economy in Malang City, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) has established a partnership with Grab Indonesia. The partnership was marked by the signing of an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) regarding cooperation in improving public services to the people of Malang City through the Grab application by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko at the Grab representative office in Malang, Monday (19/10/2020).
In his speech, Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi expressed his appreciation and support for Grab, "We are very happy and appreciate the commitment shown by Grab for Malang City. The support given by Grab to develop the digital economy in Malang will certainly have a positive impact on Malang City," said the man who is familiarly called Bung Edi.
He added that this is expected to help improve people's welfare and make it easier for people to get the best service and make their daily activities easier. "We also appreciate the initiative taken by Grab to prioritize health protocols amid the pandemic, not only in its transportation services but also services to driver partners with Virtual Grab Driver Center," he added.
The scope of this cooperation will include the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the development of tourism and culture, and the provision of easy and environmentally friendly transportation facilities.
Meanwhile, Irvan Prasetyo, Business Development Head East Java Grab Indonesia explained that Grab's goal is to ensure that the people of Malang can enjoy the benefits of the digital economy.
"We are very pleased to be able to collaborate with the Malang City Government to present various initiatives in order to support the digital economy in Malang. By utilizing Grab technology, it is hoped that the people of Malang City can be helped in terms of safe and efficient mobilization, carrying out tasks, and helping to improve community welfare. This is certainly in line with the mission Grab for Good to ensure that every member of society can take part and enjoy the benefits of the digital economy," he explained.
The collaboration between Grab and the Malang City Government includes a youth development program and strengthening of MSMEs. (Sustainable Economy Co-Creation). Grab and the Malang City Government will conduct various trainings to strengthen MSMEs in Malang City so that they can continue to develop their businesses.
Tourism support program in Malang (Cultural and Tourism Co-Creation). Grab and the Malang City Government will integrate transportation services, e-ticketing tourist destinations and tourist events in Malang City as a form of tourism promotion.
Providing easy access to transportation for the people of Malang City. Grab will provide a fleet booking service Grab Car and Grab Bike for Malang City Government employees through services Grab for Business. In addition, Grab will also carry out installations Grab Concierge in the school environment in Malang City. (hms/yon)
