Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The National Craft Council (Dekranasda) of Malang City in collaboration with the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) of Malang City held an exhibition and fashion show of Malangan batik at the Kartini Building, Wednesday (21/10/2020). This activity aims to introduce the culture and handicraft products of small and medium industries (IKM) in Malang City.
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, greatly appreciated this activity because it could raise the extraordinary cultural wealth of Malang so that it is expected to be increasingly known and loved by the community. "We hope that activities like this can make small business actors able to market the products they make," said Sutiaji.
Moreover, with the sophistication of technology, besides being able to be marketed directly, it can now also be marketed online. (Online). According to him, this is a shared task to love local products and create them to be marketed to the public.
Head of Dekranasda Malang City Widayati Sutiaji, S.Sos., MM said that this event was held to motivate small business actors to dare to work and display their products. The reason is that during the pandemic so far, many businesses have had difficulty marketing products made amidst the market downturn.
"We hope that this activity can encourage small business actors in Malang City to be enthusiastic about selling their products," said Widayati.
This activity is divided into two parts, namely inside the building featuring a fashion show with various Malangan batik events. Meanwhile outside the building there are stalls of batik bazaars of typical Malang products. (cah/ram/yon)
