BNPB Raises Superior Products from Disaster-Affected Areas

(malangkota.go.id) – The global Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the national economy. Restrictions on community activities in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus have affected various business activities and ultimately have an impact on the economy. This also applies to business activities of disaster-affected community groups who have received economic assistance from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

The Covid-19 pandemic should not dampen enthusiasm. This condition can actually be a momentum for revival. With the spirit of 'Resilient Against Covid-19, Health Recovers, Economy Rises' BNPB in 2020 is back with the Marketing Support activity of Assistance Results for Disaster-Affected Groups through an exhibition.

Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Ir. Rifai MBA, Friday night (06/11/2020) said that the marketing support (duksar) activities by BNPB were intended to publicize the results of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction activities and increase the economic income of disaster-affected communities.

"The goal is to promote and introduce products to affected community groups so that they can increase sales and income," he added.

This time, BNPB's Duksar activities were present at event Malang ITT 2020 (Exhibition of Superior Products, Trade, Investment and Tourism) which was held on 5-8 November 2020 at Malang Town Square, Malang City.

The products that will be exhibited come from MSMEs resulting from the economic recovery of disaster-affected community groups in several regions, such as Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), Malang (East Java), Sukoharjo (Central Java), Banjarnegara and Garut (West Java), Pekanbaru (Riau), Sinabung (North Sumatra) and Sentani (Papua).

Products from disaster-affected UMKM areas in Lombok include from North Lombok, in the form of Santong Coffee, Trigona Honey from Sukadana Village, weaving business from Karangbajo Village, chocolate business from Genggelang Village and cashew from Gumantar Village. From East Lombok, in the form of Sajang Coffee, Kembang Kuning coffee, Sembalun weaving, black garlic (black garlic) Sembalun, cashew nut business in Sugian Village and Bilog Petung Village.

From Central Lombok, in the form of coffee products from Air Berik Village and Karang Sidemen Village, palm sugar from Aik Bual Village. From West Lombok, in the form of palm sugar from Pusuk Lestari Village and Kekait Village, ketak business from Batu Mekar Village and Trigona honey from Saribaye Village. Other products come from MSMEs in disaster-affected areas in West Java, including Banjarnegara coffee and mocaf flour and Tjimanoek Garut Coffee.

Then from Malang there are Malang batik products, from Central Java there are Banjarnegara coffee products and Sukoharjo lurik cloth. From disaster-affected areas in North Sumatra, there are Cimbang Sinabung Coffee products. Then from Riau, there is Lajukela Pekanbaru Coffee. While from Papua, there are bark craft products and Sentani Jayapura noken.

"Previously, BNPB was also present at similar exhibitions in Bandung and Yogyakarta. Through this exhibition, it is hoped that MSMEs resulting from economic recovery from post-disaster areas will have more open marketing access and the economy will recover further," concluded Rifai. (say/yon)
