Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The tree planting movement continues to be carried out by the Malang City Government in various corners of the city to the remote areas. This time led by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, the tree planting was held at the PNS Housing, Lesanpuro Village, Saturday (11/12/2020).

Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, said that while it is the rainy season, the tree planting movement to re-green Malang City continues to be carried out. Including in the PNS Housing area, this is done with residents.
"Today, 2.500 trees were planted, in Malang City, more than 10.000 trees were planted," explained Bung Edi.
Mr. Edi said that after planting, maintenance must be carried out so that the plants planted can live healthily. If plants can live healthily and are well maintained, it will certainly have a good impact on the environment, humans, and the surrounding nature.
"If the environment is good, of course the people living around it will also be healthy. This is very much in line with the determination of the Malang City Government to make the community healthy and prosperous," he said.
By being followed by all generations from parents to children, it is hoped that tree planting activities can become a sustainable culture in Malang City. If that happens, it will certainly be an educational event, through small things can teach and bring big impacts.
"Planting trees will not only benefit the community now, but will also bring many blessings to our children and grandchildren in the future," he concluded. (cah/ram/yon)
