Malang City Government Receives CSR for Conservation of Andalas River Area

Malang (malangkota.go.id) – Various efforts have been made by BRI Kanwil Malang to help restore the community's economy amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Such as the distribution of CSR funds of Rp500 to the Malang City Government which was handed over on Wednesday (23/12/2020) to be used to beautify the river on Jl Andalas Tengah in Kasin District.

Assistance is also in the form of a waste shredder whose results can be made into various crafts by residents such as flowers, vases and compost. In addition, facilities for planting trees, namely with a hydroponic system, are also provided so that with limited land in each house, this facility can be utilized.

Appreciation and awards were also given by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after inaugurating and handing over the assistance for the Central Andalas River Conservation Area in Malang City. According to him, BRI has long and often distributed its CSR funds to the Malang City Government.

"This allocation is very appropriate because the Malang City Government is also arranging a number of river flows. Especially in the rainy season like now so that there is no overflow of water," he added.

If it is like this, explained the bespectacled man, then the community must be able to maintain and utilize it well. Such as with the presence of a garbage shredder, garbage carts and hydroponic facilities. "The village and the river are clean and safe, and added to that are various supporting facilities, then all of that will certainly have a positive impact on the community," explained Sutiaji.

BRI Malang Regional Head, Prasetya Sayekti said that this assistance is a form of concern for the community, especially in the midst of uncertain economic conditions during the current pandemic. "In addition to reducing the pile of garbage, residents can also utilize garbage into useful and valuable items. Likewise with hydroponics, residents' daily vegetable needs can be met," he explained.

"The hope is that BRI's presence can provide a lot or multiplayer benefits for the community. If from the banking services side, then the government and stakeholder "Otherwise, of course, we will contribute together to boosting the economy in the region," said Prasetya.

Until today, the amount of CSR distributed by BRI Kanwil Malang in several regencies/cities is more than IDR 5,6 billion and the budget allocation to help restore the economy in Malang Raya through the People's Business Credit (KUR) is IDR 1,8 trillion. Meanwhile, the distribution of other funds reached IDR 4,4 trillion and even during the pandemic, BRI is committed to continuing to help restore the community's economy. (say/yon)
