Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of the New Year 2021, various anticipations were carried out by the ranks of the East Java Regional Police, such as ensuring the readiness of services and security at each Lilin Semeru Operation Post. Several areas are of concern such as Batu City, Malang City and Malang Regency. Regarding this, the Deputy Chief of the East Java Regional Police, Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo conducted an inspection on Sunday (27/12/2020) afternoon.

Considering that we are still in the Covid-19 pandemic, the Deputy Chief of East Java Police also ordered all parties to remain vigilant and play an active role in preventing the spread of the virus or the emergence of new clusters. This is because Malang City and Batu City are still favorite destinations for tourists during holidays and New Year's Eve moments.
"Guarding and inspection of vehicles from outside the city must be anticipated and drivers must show a negative letter from the results of a rapid antigen test," added the Deputy Chief of Police.
At the service and security posts of Operation Candle Semeru, he said that ambulances and rapid antigen test officers must be on standby. Residents who are declared reactive/positive must be handled by the Covid-19 Task Force and are prohibited from entering an area.
"BLikewise on New Year's Eve, if it is suspected that it will trigger a crowd, officers must take firm steps to disperse it," he stressed.
According to him, these various efforts are real steps so that the outbreak does not continue to spread and does not create new clusters because Covid-19 cases in East Java are still increasing. "So there must be maximum vigilance and anticipation starting from the entry of residents from outside the area, at tourist locations to hotels or lodgings," explained Hadi.
A similar statement was delivered by the Malang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Leonardus Simarmata after explaining the readiness of his staff in front of the Deputy Chief of East Java Police. "If there is a crowd during or near New Year's Eve, we will disperse it. Likewise for motorcyclists with loud exhaust sounds, we will take action," he said.
On the other hand, a number of personnel are also equipped with complete weapons to anticipate acts of terrorism. "We will be on full alert to anticipate various disturbances, threats and other vulnerabilities. If indeed targeted firm action is needed, then the personnel are ready at any time," Leo said.
