The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji accompanied by the Chief of Police, Dandim, Chairman of the DPRD and related Heads of Services attended the Evaluation Meeting of the first day of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) online held by the East Java Provincial Government on Tuesday (12/01/2021).
Present at the meeting were the Regional Secretary, East Java Police Chief, Commander of the V Brawijaya Military Command, Regents/Mayors, Police Chiefs and Military District Commanders in 11 regions designated to implement East Java PPKM. The implementation of PPKM consists of four main activities, namely limiting office work places/workplaces to 25% WFO and 75% WFH, limiting restaurants (25% capacity) and shopping centers until 19.00, implementing online teaching and learning activities, and allowing places of worship with a capacity limitation of 50%.

The evaluation meeting began with a presentation from the Director of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Dr. Joni Wahyuhadi, regarding important indicators that need to be considered in the evaluation of the implementation of PPKM. He revealed that the indicators that need to be considered include public health indicators and community service indicators. From these indicators, it will be possible to see how much the positive cases and death rates have decreased during the implementation of PPKM so that its effectiveness can be assessed. The evaluation will be carried out on the 5th or 6th day of the implementation of PPKM.
The East Java Regional Police said that it had been agreed that the time of the restriction was until 20.00 for the tolerance limit. This is in accordance with the circular from the Governor, namely the curfew until 19.00 with tolerance until 20.00.
Kodam V Brawijaya added that it fully supports the implementation of PPKM and recommends that each region again carry out strict monitoring of the entry and exit of people in their respective areas. This aims to suppress the spread of Covid-19.
11 Regional Heads together with the Police Chief and Dandim submitted an evaluation report on the implementation of PPKM from each region. In his report, the Mayor of Malang said that Malang City carried out two operations, namely a major operation and an operation in each sub-district and assigned each sub-district to actively go around to monitor the implementation of PPKM.
"We emphasize public awareness to be disciplined in health protocols. In this case, we are modifying 5M, in addition to 3M we add to avoid crowds and reduce mobility. With the increasing public awareness, we are also continuously strengthening resilient villages which we directly monitor together with the Kapolresta and Dandim," said Drs. H. Sutiaji in his presentation.
Furthermore, the Malang Police Chief added that there were obstacles such as in the distribution of medicines and vitamins to self-isolation places, the solution was to maximize the duties of Babinsa and local officials.
In his report with the Mayor of Malang, Dandim added that there were still several points that lacked discipline so that inspections were carried out and 7 were given BAP. He said that in the future, operations would be intensified so that everyone would be disciplined because the 20.00 curfew regulation was non-negotiable. And he hopes that through the resilient village, the spread of Covid-19 can be controlled and reduced.
The Regional Secretary of the East Java Provincial Government requested that the evaluation of the implementation of PPKM continue to be carried out and reported, including reports on the positive and negative impacts after the implementation of PPKM. He hopes that the implementation of PPKM can suppress the spread and increase in positive Covid-19 numbers.
