Prospective train passengers undergo rapid antigen tests at the station before traveling

The regulation is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 11 of 2021 concerning the Extension of the Implementation of Guidelines for the Implementation of Travel by Railway Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

As for the certificate of negative Covid-19 results from the GeNose test or rapid antigen test or RT-PCR, the sample was taken within a maximum period of 3x24 hours before departure time. This requirement is not mandatory for customers under 12 years of age.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Suprapto explained, regarding the GeNose test examination service at the station, it is planned to be available in stages starting February 5, 2021. Currently, it is still in the preparation stage with Gadjah Mada University and PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI). "In the initial stage, the service is planned to be provided at Gambir and Yogyakarta Stations first," said Suprapto, Wednesday (27/01/2021).

Currently, PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya has provided rapid antigen test services at 5 stations in its area for Rp105.000.
