Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The first phase of Covid-19 vaccination in Malang City was held on Thursday (28/01/2021) in the mini hall of the Malang City Hall office and was attended by 11 of the 12 scheduled people. They consisted of representatives of religious figures, medical personnel, the TNI, residents and the Forkopimda. Meanwhile, representatives from the Police will be rescheduled due to a number of special considerations.

Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji after the vaccination said that later all residents will receive the vaccine and there is no need to worry or fear and there are side effects. Because until now there is still news circulating that this vaccine is not safe, causing fear and doubt in the community.
With the involvement and selection of these figures, according to the bespectacled man, in this first stage of vaccination and after 30 minutes of the vaccine being injected, there were no effects whatsoever. This vaccine is also confirmed to be safe and related to the circulation of negative issues from irresponsible individuals so far. Sutiaji appealed to ignore the false information circulating.
"Why are figures vaccinated first? Because so far there is still doubt from people who want to incite how vaccination in Indonesia is hampered and in turn will lead to social distancing. So that it also leads to economic growth not being able to move properly," he continued.
Furthermore, Sutiaji said that the vaccine is actually in oneself, namely by implementing strict health protocols. So it does not mean that because there is a vaccine, people ignore health protocols. "Thus, Covid-19 cases can continue to be suppressed, and automatically the economy will continue to grow," he explained.
Separately, Acting Head of the Malang City Health Office, Sri Winarni, SH said that the need for Malang City's vaccine is 25.040 doses and in the first stage, 10.240 vaccines have been received from the East Java Provincial Government. The remaining 15.800 vaccines will be sent after the first stage is completed. After today's vaccination, the vaccine will be given to medical personnel and other priority groups until the end of February 2021.
Meanwhile, the vaccination sites, added the woman in hijab, are 84 health facilities, namely 16 health centers, 25 hospitals, and 43 clinics. As conveyed by the mayor, Sri Winarni also appealed to the public not to be afraid or hesitant to receive this vaccine later.
"This is a very positive government program and must be supported by all parties, so that Covid-19 cases can continue to be suppressed and the economy can recover," he said. (say/ram)
