Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko attended the Pre-Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) Thematic Youth event in the framework of preparing the 2022 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) at Paramount Ballroom 1 Hotel Atria Malang, Tuesday (9/2/2021).
In his speech, Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, revealed that the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) held a thematic musrenbang so that it could be a means of participation and conveying the aspirations of community groups. The theme of this musrenbang is 'The Role of Youth in Strengthening the Creative Industry and Socio-Economic Recovery of Malang City.'
"This youth Musrenbang has been conducted for the second time. Each region is given the authority to prepare a process-oriented regional development plan. This is a unity in the national development planning system using a technocratic, participatory, political approach, and top down and bottom up, and oriented towards holistic-thematic, integrative and spatial substance," said Bung Edi in front of 12 regional apparatuses of Malang City and representatives from various youth organizations.
According to him, the existence of young people is considered very important. Because based on the results of the Malang City population census, it shows that the number of young and productive age population is quite dominant. This forum aims to obtain input in order to sharpen performance targets, programs and activities.
"The potential of human resources (HR) in Malang City is extraordinary. So it is hoped that the youth will play an active and participatory role in providing aspirations and ideas for the development process. HR is the main asset of Malang City. The balance of building character and mastery of knowledge skills is the key to the birth of a golden generation that is not only knowledgeable, but also moral," said Bung Edi.
Bung Edi also appreciated the Bappeda of Malang City which has involved various elements of society to compile the RKPD. The implementation of thematic musrenbang is one of the implementations of the involvement of community elements in the development of Malang City.
In his report, the Head of Bappeda Malang City, Dwi Rahayu, SH., M. Hum conveyed the purpose of implementing this activity is to involve youth in providing input in the preparation of the RKPD, encouraging youth community organizations to initiate programs that can later be integrated with government programs. So that it can maximize regional progress and as a guideline for all stakeholders and all parties who care about regional development.
"We expect that musrenbang participants will also convey their big ideas in the discussion. So that quality regional development planning can be realized," he added. (ari/ram)
