Klojen, (malangkota.go.id)– The Plasma Hero Movement which is currently viral at the national level has received appreciation from the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko. Specifically, the number two person in the Malang City Government held an audience with the Plasma Hero Movement community in his office, Monday (15/2/2021).

Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, admitted that he just found out that the person who initiated the Plasma Hero Movement was from Malang City. This was after being told by people in Jakarta. This movement is very good and can be a real solution for Covid-19 patients in getting plasma donors.
"I want the Health Service to immediately collaborate with the Plasma Hero Movement. This activity is a form of our mutual cooperation in overcoming Covid-19," explained Bung Edi.
Bung Edi added that the Malang City Government through the Health Service will immediately coordinate with the ranks of the TNI/Polri, banks, and other private parties to appeal to Covid-19 survivors in their respective institutions to participate in this convalescent plasma donor program.
"This plasma donation will greatly help Covid-19 patients to recover and get through their critical period. However, not all survivors can donate their plasma, screening must be carried out first," he said.
Malang City Government will immediately take steps so that this activity can be implemented immediately with the direction of Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji. This is considering the high need for this convalescent plasma.
Meanwhile, the initiator of the Plasma Hero Movement, Dr. Ariyani, said that this movement is national in scope. Malang City is one of the areas participating in the movement. "We will launch the National Thousand Plasma Movement in Malang. Later, we ask for support from the Malang City Government and PMI," said Dr. Ariyani.
According to Dr. Ariyani, the treatment process for Covid-19 patients carried out at Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) Malang, the effectiveness of healing Covid-19 patients by administering convalescent plasma donors is 80 percent.
Also present at this event were Acting Head of the Malang City Health Office, Sri Winarni, SH., MM, Director of the Malang City Hospital, dr. Husnul Muarib, representatives of the Indonesian Blood Donor Association (PDDI) of Malang City, and representatives of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Malang City. (cah/ram)
