Malang City Government Encourages MSMEs to be Involved in Procurement of Goods/Services

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Goods/Services Procurement Service Unit (ULP) continues to encourage and support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) so that they can participate or be directly involved in the goods/services procurement program. In addition to allowing MSMEs to develop and compete in the global era, this has been covered by a number of regulations.

As in Article 5 of Presidential Regulation Number 16 of 2018 concerning Government Procurement of Goods/Services, which in essence provides an opportunity to involve MSME actors in the process of providing goods/services up to IDR 2,5 billion.

These are some of the things conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Government's Goods/Services ULP Drs. R. Widjaya Saleh Putra on Monday (15/02/2021). Similar regulations were also issued by the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) together with the Ministry of Home Affairs in the form of a circular letter, and strengthened by the Circular Letter of the Mayor of Malang.

For Malang City UMKM actors who want to participate in this program, Wijaya explained, they can access the Bela Pengadaan application, Jatim Bejo and if they want to know more, they can come to the Malang City ULP Office located in Malang City Hall. "So far in Malang City, hundreds of UMKM actors have participated in the procurement, especially creative economy actors," he added.

Of that number, Wijaya said, until the end of 2020, it was still dominated by food and beverage business actors. While this year it will expand into other fields such as office stationery and souvenirs. "We will encourage the growth and participation of other business actors so that their movements continue to grow," explained the bespectacled man.

Wijaya further said, for MSMEs who want to participate in the procurement of goods/services, the requirements are not difficult. The important thing is to have a taxpayer identification number (NPWP) and the process does not have to go through a tender or auction, and for one transaction the maximum is IDR 50 million. "We hope that MSMEs can take advantage of this opportunity to help strengthen the economy nationally," he concluded. (say/ram)
