Education and Culture Office Determines Student Graduation Through Daily Assessment

Lowokwaru, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) responded to the issuance of Circular Letter of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2021 concerning the Elimination of National Examinations and Equivalency Examinations. In 2021, the Malang City Disdikbud will determine the graduation of students through daily assessments.

Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, SE., MM revealed that his office had taken various steps to anticipate the elimination of the national exam (UN) as a requirement for student graduation. Among them, including training for curriculum representatives for each junior high school in Malang City.

"The training material is directly from the East Java Provincial Education Quality Assurance Institute (LPMP). From the training supplies, it will later become a more objective basis for determining student graduation from school," explained Suwarjana, Tuesday (16/2/2021).

As a substitute for student graduation later, he continued, there will be an assessment of students' daily lives. This is important because students sometimes take exams in bad conditions. By tracing the student's track record, of course it will be a reference value for determining graduation. Through this method, the assessment will be more objective for students.

"As mandated by the Ministry of Education and Culture to determine student graduation, there are at least three requirements. First, students must complete the learning program during the Covid-19 pandemic as evidenced by each semester's report card," said Suwarjana.

Second, students get a minimum attitude/behavior score of good. Third, students must take an exam organized by the school. The exam organized by the school determines student graduation and can be implemented in the form of portfolios, assignments, online tests, and other forms of assessment activities determined by the school.
