Mayor, IDI, and Crazy Rich Malang Discuss Covid-19 Vaccination on Instagram

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Educating the public about Covid-19 vaccination, the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Malang Raya Branch held a discussion via Instagram live with the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji with the title 'Are You Ready for Vaccination, Rek?' on Saturday (20/02/2021). This exciting discussion featured Internist dr. Muhammad Anshory, Sp.PD, influencer Gilang Widya Pramana, and host of IDI Malang Public Relations Dr. dr. Dhelya Widasmara, Sp.KK (K).

The Mayor of Malang on this occasion explained that the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination is still in process. The plan is for art activists, communities, public servants, TNI/Polri, and the blind to be prioritized. Meanwhile, 12.164 health workers (nakes) for the initial stage have been completed.

"Meanwhile, for the community, it is targeted to be completed in 2021. Currently, those aged 60 and above and those with comorbidities are also being targeted. Actually, those at risk (of being exposed to Covid-19 and at high risk of death) are the elderly and people with comorbidities," explained Sutiaji.

Regarding the implementation of this vaccination, Sutiaji emphasized that this vaccination is free and funded by the state. He also emphasized that this vaccine is safe, because it can be seen that Dr. Anshory and Dr. Dhelya have carried out two stages of the vaccine and thank God it is safe and nothing happens. He advised the public not to only rely on vaccines, but to continue to implement health protocols.

Responding to the Mayor of Malang, Dr. Anshory said that initially there were concerns that the elderly and those with comorbidities would not be vaccinated. However, after further research, they were finally able to be vaccinated with the aim of protecting everyone. For Covid survivors, Dr. Anshory said that they are now allowed to be vaccinated.

"As long as it is at least or more than three months after infection. Because after three months, immunity to the virus has decreased," he explained further.

Meanwhile, for people who cannot be vaccinated, Dr. Anshory said that such as kidney failure. Meanwhile, diabetes and hypertension are allowed as long as they are supervised or checked by a doctor first.

Meanwhile, influencer or Crazy Rich Malang Gilang Widya Pramana said that he was worried and afraid when he was going to get vaccinated. "It turns out that after being vaccinated, I was fine, I could even work, I wasn't afraid to go anywhere. Even though we still have to implement health protocols, now I'm not worried anymore," he said.

Gilang Widya Pramana invited not to be afraid to carry out vaccinations and to be an inspiration to others. "For friends, especially millennials, all Malang residents, the point is don't be afraid. Let's make the government's program a success, so we can return to work normally, so the economy returns to normal, and we can travel again," he invited. (yon/ram)
