"Of course, competitive sports are the responsibility of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Malang. But for recreational sports, such as gobak slodor and egrang, they are under the Disporapar. If a few years ago sports were just a hobby, now they have expanded and can be used as a source of income," added Sutiaji when opening the regional apparatus forum held by Disporapar at the Ijen Suite Hotel, Wednesday (24/02/2021).

"Sports achievements are certainly the responsibility of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Malang. But for recreational sports, such as gobak slodor and egrang under Disporapar. If a few years ago sports were just a hobby, now it has expanded and can be used as a source of income," added Sutiaji.

For information, the 16 sub-sectors of the creative economy include game development, architecture, interior design, music, fine arts, product design, fashion, culinary, animated films and videos, photography, visual communication design, television and radio, crafts, advertising, performing arts, publishing, and applications.

The bespectacled man added that more than 50 percent of Malang City residents are young people. This must be used as an opportunity to produce a generation of achievers in various fields, including sports. "Young people or students who are perhaps less than satisfactory in terms of academics, then non-academic paths can be improved," explained Sutiaji.

"It must be admitted, we are still weak in coaching and nurturing athletes and this is a shared homework. How will these young people achieve, be smart, creative and innovative. In addition to the involvement of parents and Disporapar, related agencies must also be involved to realize this, such as Diskopindag and Disdikbud," he explained.

Sutiaji also advised that in working not to be 100 percent based on the budget. This is to address the possibility of budget limitations in an agency. If there are budget limitations, there must be a priority scale and an indicative ceiling as a benchmark.

"In this case, Disporapar should improve communication with related agencies such as KONI, communities, youth organizations to facilitate all parties. Especially for recreational sports, in the future it must be maximized again," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
