Rainy Season, Malang City Government Encourages Planting of Pule Trees

Lowokwaru, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government continues to encourage the planting of pule trees to create green open spaces (RTH). This is done while it is still the rainy season in the Malang area.

Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko when planting a pule tree in Tulusrejo Village

Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko as the initiator of this tree planting revealed that the tree planting movement is to make Malang City cooler and more beautiful. From the existing register, the pule tree planted in Tulusrejo Village is the 2.583rd. This means that since this movement was launched, 2.853 trees have been planted in various locations in Malang City.

"We have been planting pule trees since October 21, 2019, starting from the Alhayatul Islam Islamic Boarding School. This is our effort to invite the community to love planting and love the environment," explained Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname in Tulusrejo Village, Friday (26/02/2021).

According to him, this tree planting will continue to be done as greening and to provide education to the community so that they like to plant. Because maintaining a quality environmental sustainability will improve the oxygen needed by humans.

"To be able to plant, you don't have to do it directly by planting in large quantities. Just one or two trees, if you continue to do it continuously, of course you will be able to have a lot in the end," he continued.

Through this method, Bung Edi gives a direct example to the community in the hope that it can be imitated. Because without a direct example from the leader, it will be difficult to invite the community to play an active role. "Hopefully with our presence in Tulusrejo, it will further ignite the enthusiasm of the residents to be more active in planting," he said.

In addition, because it is still in the Covid-19 pandemic period, Bung Edi also continues to invite residents to comply with the health protocols that have been set by the government. So that the number of Covid-19 spreads can be suppressed maximally in Malang City. (cah/ram)
