Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – One of the snacks that many people like is sweet rujak. In Malang City, there are many sweet rujak stalls in every corner of the city, one of which is famous and legendary is Rujak Manis Ananas (Rumanas) Pak Bejo. Yes, this sweet rujak has been familiar to the tongues of its connoisseurs since 1975 because of its delicious taste.
Various pieces of fruit combined with Pak Bejo's signature sweet rujak seasoning are able to pamper the taste buds of consumers. No wonder this sweet rujak is always crowded with visitors, even many loyal customers come from out of town.
There are 8 fruits served, such as young mango, pineapple, jicama, melon, papaya, kedondong, starfruit, cucumber, and of course fried tofu. Brown sugar, crushed peanuts, petis, and tamarind are mixed perfectly so that the taste of rujak seasoning in this place is truly delicious and appetizing.
"Not only sweet rujak, we also serve a unique menu and it seems like it's only available here, namely tofu burger. Tofu that is halved is filled with sweet rujak seasoning and added with fried onions, so it tastes delicious," said Didik, one of the employees of Rumunas Pak Bejo when met at the shop on Jalan Mundu No. 2, Bareng, Klojen, Malang City, Friday (26/02/2021).
This culinary business, which has been established since 1975, has not only settled in one location, initially by traveling around Malang City. However, after 22 years of running, precisely in 1997, it just settled selling on the corner of Jalan Ananas, Malang City. Since then, this sweet rujak has been known as Rujak Manis Ananas (Rumanas) Pak Bejo. Starting in November 2020, Rumanas Pak Bejo moved to a shophouse on Jalan Mundu 2A. This shop is open every day from 09.00 to 16.00 WIB.
For 46 years, this sweet rujak has been known to the people of Malang, it is said that the initial selling price was IDR 10 in 1975. In 2021, a portion of sweet rujak is priced at IDR 20.000. Quite affordable, considering the large portion and can be eaten by 2 people.
Because it is already legendary, Rumanas also serves the sale of seasonings packaged in bottles for Rp35.000. "For this seasoning, it can last up to a month, so it is also suitable if used as a souvenir," concluded Didik. (ari/ram)
