Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji handed over the appreciation of the Thousand Rupiah Movement (Gerbu) funds to the Kayutangan street vendors (PKL) association, Thursday (04/03/2021). This appreciation was given as a reward to the community who have supported and been patient with the development of the Kayutangan area as a heritage tourism.

This appreciation fund was handed over at an activity held at the Kauman Village Office, Malang City. Gerbu is a voluntary alms movement collected from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Malang City Government and managed by the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Malang City.

A total of 54 people who are members of the Kayutangan PKL association received an appreciation fund of Rp500.000 per person. Through this fund, it is hoped that it can be useful for the people who receive it. "Don't worry about the nominal, I hope it can be used well. This is not compensation, but this is an appreciation for your patience and for your support for the development of Malang City," said Sutiaji.
Sutiaji also said that the Malang City Government is committed to ensuring that its people are prosperous by any means. The goal is how the people of Malang City can be prosperous, safe, and peaceful. One of them is through development, of course in development there is a process.
One of them is how Kayutangan became one of the tourist destinations in Malang City. The people of Kayutangan and the people of Malang City enjoy it. "Hopefully this will be a motivation for you in the future, currently being arranged to be better. God willing, this will become one of the tourist attractions," added Sutiaji.
On the other hand, Sutiaji continues to strive to strengthen Gerbu so that it can be useful for the community. His party will continue this thousand movement to the sub-districts. Where in several sub-districts have coordinated to continue to seek Gerbu funds, so that these funds can be utilized by the surrounding community.
"That is our target for the future, we just need to expand what is currently in process," added the Head of Basnaz Malang City, Sulaiman.
