Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Initial Draft of the Changes to the Malang City Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2018-2023 has been agreed upon and signed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji and the Chairperson of the Malang City DPRD, I Made Riandiana Kartika after the plenary session of the Malang City DPRD, Wednesday (3/3/2021).
Later, the preparation of the agreed RPJMD changes is a joint agreement between the executive and the legislature. Although it has been agreed, several factions in the Malang City DPRD provided notes, both related to the progress of economic growth, increasing business opportunities for MSMEs, and others. This is considering that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet and requires further handling which is the main priority of the Malang City Government.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has made the policy direction in the RPJMD have to adjust. Like it or not, it will affect the assumption of performance achievements in 2020, this is the opposite. Because this is an epidemic, the target in 2020 was not achieved, because of the epidemic. Even though all targets were adjusted in the RPJMD," explained Sutiaji.
The Mayor of Malang is optimistic that the government can increase regional income again so that it can be used to accelerate development. The optimism of the Malang City Government was also reminded by the faction, and reminded of the financial potential. This should be a concern for strengthening the economy of all.
“I am still optimistic. Our income is assumed to decrease, but in reality, we are currently emphasizing the acceleration of intensification. Intensification alone has the potential of IDR 20 to IDR 30 billion. This is a reinforcement so that our RPJMD does not decrease too drastically due to the pandemic. The more we accelerate, the more we strengthen regional financial access,” he explained further.
