Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The existence and role of political parties greatly influence the direction of policies and various development programs. Although politics is sometimes identical to power, political parties should also be able to convey healthy political education to the community. Political parties must emerge and be critical when there are policies that do not side with the people.

That is one of the functions of the existence of political parties. Political parties must be able to educate society and create a better order of life, so that their existence is not looked down upon by society. Therefore, currently there is a need for independence from political parties.
These are some of the things conveyed and emphasized by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji when opening the event for facilitating government institutions, representatives and political parties, general elections/regional head elections in 2021 at the Ijen Suites Hotel, Monday (15/03/2021).
If the independence of political parties is built, Sutiaji added, then democracy will continue to improve and improve. Political party leaders must have capability, morals and integrity. "While party cadres are also determined by the independence of the party. Therefore, appoint party members who do not have a transactional vision," he explained.
The bespectacled man added that in the 1960s political parties were funded by their members, so that organizational independence was realized well because party members had a sense of ownership. "How the party atmosphere can educate the public according to the legislation is depicted in it. This is what can and must be a reflection for political party members today," explained Sutiaji.
"Currently, our democratic system is open but not liberal, and still oriented towards Pancasila. This is what we must strengthen together, in order to realize the ideals of the Indonesian nation according to the 1945 Constitution. What also needs to be remembered is that the purpose of establishing a country is to prosper its citizens," he continued.
At the event held by the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City, the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 78 of 2020 concerning amendments to the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 36 of 2018 concerning Financial Assistance for Political Parties was also socialized. Thus, Dra. Rinawati, MM as the Head of Bakesbangpol hopes that all administrators and members of political parties can better understand the regulation later.
"The regulation clearly regulates how to manage the budget, orderly administration, political education for the community and others. So that in the future it is also expected that there will be better synergy between the Malang City Government and a number of administrators and/or members of political parties," the bespectacled woman hoped.
