Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to accelerate economic recovery in Malang City due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malang City Government together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the banking team held an audience to accelerate economic recovery at Malang City Hall, Friday (19/3/2021).

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, said that the crisis during the Covid-19 pandemic was different from the Indonesian economic crisis in 1998. At that time, the crisis was not only in Indonesia but also in various parts of the world. "God created a situation like this as a reminder that there is no difference between developed countries, developing countries, and underdeveloped countries. This situation must be an encouragement for us to rise," explained Sutiaji.
Likewise, to accelerate economic recovery in Malang City, one way is to properly develop micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Because MSMEs have been the mainstay of the micro economy and have survived. Therefore, development of MSMEs must continue to be carried out, both in accounting management, production, and marketing.
"The Malang City Government continues to support MSMEs to develop, including now during the Covid-19 pandemic," said Sutiaji.
The way that needs to be done, he said, is to develop MSMEs by digitizing them. So he asked the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Agency (Diskopindag) to collaborate with banks and the OJK. (cah/ram)
