Currently, Malang City Government Trains KIM & Admin of TikTok and YouTube Social Media

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) held an empowerment activity for communication partners for the Community Information Group (KIM), sub-district social media admins, and the general public with training in processing social media content, especially YouTube and TikTok at the Ijen Suites Hotel on March 22-23, 2021.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji greatly appreciated the great enthusiasm of the participants and their punctuality. He hopes that after the training, more and more Malang residents will become content creators by presenting creative information, education, and entertainment through social media.

In addition, participants can encourage the development of the creative economy in Malang City, as well as realizing an informative and dignified society. However, the Mayor of Malang who loves to read again reminded that technology including social media should be used wisely and judiciously.

"No matter how advanced technology is, if we don't take its spirit, it won't be good but instead it will be chaotic," said Sutiaji.

Head of Malang City Communication and Information Office, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos said the purpose of this activity is to increase the capacity of the community as content creators who can increase public literacy in the era of social media. "From the millennial generation to the colonial generation, they are present as participants this time," said the polite man who is familiarly called Pak Wid.

The resource persons for this activity were Endrita Agung Wicaksono (social media strategist) and Immarotul Izza (content creator from Malang Times). Both shared tips and strategies in creating interesting and unique content, as well as how to attract viewers from the public.

According to Endrita Agung Wicaksono, the rapid growth of social media users such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube makes the content circulating on these platforms more easily viral and trusted by its users. According to data from Sensor Tower, as of July 2020, Indonesia is the fourth largest TikTok social media user in the world with 30,7 million users. This is certainly an opportunity for content creators to produce works in the form of short videos.

"Today's society is very close to social media, so we can use it for certain purposes if we know the strategy. For example, for business promotions, tourist attractions, education, and others," said Endrita.

Meanwhile, Imroatul Izza said, to attract the public, the content must be prepared in such a way. The concept and target are thought of from the beginning. "Through this training, we learn together how to make interesting content," he said.

The event was attended by 140 participants from representatives of Community Information Group (KIM) members from each sub-district, the general public, and regional apparatus. This event also implemented the provisions of the health protocol during the Implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) III. (ndu/ram)
