Celebrating 17th Anniversary, Tagana Malang City Plants 1.000 Trees

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In commemoration of its 17th anniversary, the Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) of Malang City carried out a movement to plant 1.000 trees. One of the locations was the SD Negeri Model area of Malang City, Tuesday (30/03/2021).

Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko planted a pule tree at the Malang City Model State Elementary School

The selection of SD Negeri Model is not without reason, in fact Tagana has collaborated with several schools. Tagana Malang City has collaborated and synergized with educational institutions that have also been running well with Tagana, one of which is SD Negeri Model.

In addition, the school area is also very large so that there is a lot of empty land for planting trees. Tagana does have a target of planting one million trees. In Malang City itself, Tagana targets to plant 1.000 trees. Apparently this is in line with the intensive tree planting carried out by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko so of course this activity is very much supported by him.

"I agree with this activity because it has an educational element, there is character education, there is also an effort to rebuild our nature which may have been polluted which causes the quality of water and air to be less good," said Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname.

Character education is very important to be applied in today's life. Indonesia has noble values inherited from the nation's predecessors which are a very valuable legacy for this nation that must continue to be instilled and applied in everyday life. One way to instill these values is by planting trees.

"The tree planting movement is not only focused on planting. But how we can love and care for it well. So that it can also give life and create a better ecosystem," he said.

According to Bung Edi, this is a great wisdom because it is holding a birthday activity in the midst of this pandemic situation. This birthday is a good momentum for Tagana, because last year they did not have time to celebrate their anniversary due to handling Covid-19.

"Alhamdulillah, not with a party, this year's Tagana anniversary is celebrated with a tree planting movement. I agree. Hopefully, Tagana's role will be increasingly felt by the community, especially in overcoming disaster problems in Malang City," he concluded.

Tagana Malang City will plant 225 pule trees from a total of 1.000 trees to be planted. Not only pule, there will also be durian and avocado trees that will be planted. Bung Edi greatly appreciates what Tagana has done at SD Negeri Model Malang City.

"The health protocol is cool. I entered, my body temperature was checked, then I also had to wash my hands, everyone passed and was given a bracelet like this. So if you wear this bracelet, anyone in this area has gone through the health protocol selection carried out by the school internally. This is a model that can be developed in implementing health protocols," said Bung Edi, who today planted the 3.763rd pule tree. (ari/ram)
