There is a Drive Thru Vaccination Service in Malang City

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The elderly are one of the groups that the Malang City Government is paying attention to in the vaccination program. This is because this group is vulnerable to exposure to Covid-19, so the provision of vaccines must be accelerated so that it can continue to be suppressed optimally. In relation to this, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, a drive-thru vaccination service or a service without getting out of the vehicle was launched.

This event is quite a special program because it coincides with the 107th anniversary of Malang City and is expected to provide convenience for vaccine recipients. On the other hand, herd immunity will be realized and as one proof that Malang City is ready to make the vaccination program a success and vaccine injection is not something to be afraid of.

Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji after reviewing the implementation of the vaccination said that this service will also be implemented in 16 health centers, 24 hospitals, 40 clinics and several places such as markets, stadiums, and stations. "Thus, more elderly people will be targeted and in each service location at least 300 recipients can be vaccinated," he added.

In general, Malang City targets to inject 7.000 vaccines into the community per day and to date around 6.500 have been realized. With this drive-thru service, at least the target will be realized properly. "This program is also an effort for the appointment of Malang City by the Ministry of Health as one of the pilot cities for vaccination," explained Sutiaji.

Regarding the program, he explained, it might be maximized after Malang City receives the AstraZeneca vaccine. However, even so, the implementation of vaccination as a whole or for various groups will continue to be boosted starting this April. "We will certainly maximize the government's program, so that it can reduce the tension of the pandemic and the community's economy continues to grow," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
