Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – 'Care and Share' is the theme of the 107th anniversary of Malang City. This theme was taken considering the situation and conditions are still in the Covid-19 pandemic, thus requiring the Malang City Government to focus on program policies and activities directed at steps and efforts to prevent and break the chain of transmission of Covid-19.

These efforts emphasize the concern of all parties for the success of the implementation of the 6 M movement, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, increasing immunity with a healthy diet and exercise, and avoiding crowds.
By increasing the values of care, it will encourage everyone to further strengthen the values of sympathy and empathy that are manifested in the attitude of sharing. Likewise, the existence of resilient RW, resilient villages, resilient schools, resilient offices, and resilient places of worship becomes a necessity if followed by strengthening the values of care and sharing that are strengthened by the pentahelix strategy.
Those are some of the things conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji at the 107th anniversary of Malang City in the yard of the city hall on Thursday (011/04/2021). Based on this, according to him, of course, expressions of gratitude also continue to be expressed for this age of more than a century.
"Through this important commemoration, let us make it a moment to increase togetherness, solidarity and foster a sense of unity and togetherness as well as strengthening the spirit of one Arema soul in realizing the progress and prosperity of Malang City," he added.
Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic that is still happening now. Where the impact is so extraordinary. The declining social and economic conditions are one of the reasons to increase the sense of caring, sharing, and strengthening each other.

"As with the concept of cross-element pentahelix collaboration that has been established so far, it is hoped that the same spirit of fighting together to get out of the Covid-19 pandemic will remain," explained the bespectacled man.
For that reason, Sutiaji continued, in order to develop the economic sector in Malang City, it really requires the involvement of elements of government, academics, the business world, society/community and media in a pentahelix framework, especially in the creative economy sector by strengthening the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) owned by Malang City.
"Because as we know, currently the creative economy sector is the backbone of the national economy. Because it can drive the real sector economy massively and significantly. Therefore, in the future development of Malang City will make the creative economy sector the locomotive of the future of the city's economy," he continued.
Furthermore, Sutiaji said, as a form of commitment from the Malang City Government to the development of the creative economy sector which focuses on providing infrastructure, developing ecosystems, and increasing marketing. In 2021, the construction of the Malang Creative Center will begin and is estimated to be completed in 2022. The Malang Creative Center will be the center of activity or as a co-working space and as a center of interaction for potential creative economy actors to collaborate with each other. The utilization and management of the Malang Creative Center is a priority program of the City of Malang in 2021.
In response to this, the creative community of Malang City must be able to take advantage of the opportunities, chances and facilities provided by the Malang City Government. The hope is that the startup community of Malang City will continue to grow. There is still a lot of homework for the Malang City Government that must be found solutions and completed, including the first is market revitalization.
"For 2021, there are three markets that will be built, namely Madyopuro Market, Lesanpuro Market, and Kotalama Market," said Sutiaji.
Even during the Covid-19 period, he explained, it is hoped that it can be realized so that the condition of the people's market in Malang City is increasingly organized and comfortable for traders and consumers and this is also one of the provisions of facilities and efforts to strengthen the economy for the community.
"Secondly, related to the problem of flooding and waterlogging that often occurs in several areas, especially when the intensity of rain is quite high. Moreover, recently extreme weather with high rainfall and strong winds hit Malang City which not only caused flooding, but also many fallen trees," he explained.
For this reason, efforts are needed to overcome this, one of which is through an injection well program which is expected to be able to overcome the problem of flooding and inundation which has become an environmental problem and public issue.
"In addition, strengthening the environmental community and the Task Force (Satgas) of the Garbage and Sediment Lifting Movement (GASS) is important to be further supported in its role in cleaning all the gutters in Malang City in an effort to prevent blockages in water flow. And regarding fallen trees, it is important to detect and map trees that are starting to look rotten so they can be cut down," explained Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, regarding the problem of traffic congestion, the Malang City Government is trying to open new roads, such as making a shortcut from the Malang toll exit to Sulfat, opening the western ring road in the Tunggulwulung area, to reduce congestion in the MT Haryono Street area to Mayjend Panjaitan Street, considering that the area is the main route for people to Batu City and vice versa, to the center of Malang City.
"The Malang City Government will also widen the roads in the Ranugrati area, Jalan Puntodewo and Sawojajar. Of course, these development efforts are carried out, in addition to reducing congestion, also to facilitate access to community mobility as part of improving the economic sector. All of this can be realized with the active participation and support of all Malang City residents," concluded Sutiaji. (say/ram)
