Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – As many as 34 visual artists who are members of the Astra Citra Perupa Malang community held a painting exhibition in the lobby of the Malang City DPRD. The artists who came from Malang Raya, Blitar, Kediri, and Mojokerto displayed 70 of their very unique and diverse works.
The exhibition to commemorate the 107th anniversary of Malang City was held from April 7-12, 2021. This exhibition is an annual agenda and this year is the 6th and is very beneficial for artists. The reason is, so far they have not had a place for exhibitions that can be held regularly.
This was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Exhibition Committee, Bambang Randika Santoso to the media crew on Tuesday (06/04/2021). According to him, so far the artists have held exhibitions by moving, such as in hotels and the Malang Arts Council Building. However, in some places it cannot be held routinely.
"We are grateful and would like to thank the ranks of the Malang City DPRD for accommodating us and the exhibition can be held every year. Facilitation like this really helps us, especially during a pandemic like now, so that artists remain productive," added Bambang.
Separately, the Chairperson of the Malang City DPRD, I Made Riandiana Kartika said that his party appreciated the exhibition event. In addition to keeping artists active, according to him, the DPRD building is a people's building. "Anyone can use the hall or lobby of this office, as long as the activity is positive," he said.
For visitors or painting enthusiasts who want to own one, please meet the local committee. The price of the painting is set from Rp2,5 million to Rp20 million, but from that price it is still negotiable. (say/ram)
