Klojen, (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko gave appreciation and awards to the young karateka of Malang City who achieved at the Pepabri Building of Malang City, Sunday (11/4/2021).
The Karateka from Malang City who won the championship were Kirani Aqila Larasi as the second winner of the 2021 Virtual Kata National Championship and Keenan Adiyaksa Ridha Ramadhan as the second winner of the 2 National Student Sports Olympiad Competition (KO2021SN).
Likewise in the National Virtual Kata Team Group, Malang City karate athletes also won second place. They consist of Keenan Adiyaksa Ridha Ramadhan from Gadang 1 Elementary School, Malang, Kirani Aqila Larasati from Tulusrejo 3 Elementary School, and Dewi Novia Arini from Gadang 1 Elementary School.
Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname, greatly appreciates the achievements of Malang City karate athletes at the national level. According to him, even in the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Malang City athletes can still make achievements in the championship held virtually.
"This is a sign and encouragement that even in difficult conditions amid the pandemic, the Malang youth can make history by achieving achievements," explained Bung Edi.
He added, this is an extraordinary achievement, where many creative efforts are made in the midst of a pandemic. This is part of an effort to adapt to the pandemic. "This is a very serious effort from coaches and athletes to continue to train well, even in very limited circumstances," he said.
The values of discipline and honesty are clearly visible in the efforts of Malang City athletes to achieve achievements. This is something very valuable and must continue to be developed in all areas of life.
