Lowokwaru, (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji conducted a Ramadan safari to the congregation of the Surya Gemilang Mosque on Jalan Saxophone, Tunggulwulung, Lowokwaru, Malang City, Monday (26/4/2021). This safari was also for friendship between the ranks of the Malang City Government and the community.
Mayor Sutiaji said that since it was established around 2012, his party has visited the Surya Gemilang Mosque several times. This mosque has rapid development and can be an extraordinary center for preaching.
"We hope that the existence of this mosque can be a fortress for the people to stem the high influence of foreign culture," explained Sutiaji.
Including now during the Covid-19 pandemic which is still unclear when it will end. From the mosque, health protocols are continuously encouraged so that worship can continue to run smoothly. However, public health is still well maintained. Learning from the experience of India, where Covid-19 cases in the country have again become a concern due to the large number of Covid-19 cases lately.
The Supervisor of Surya Gemilang Mosque, Prof. Dr. Tobroni, M.Si admitted that he was grateful to be able to meet directly with the ranks of the Malang City Government. The presence of the Mayor of Malang, Deputy Mayor of Malang, and the ranks greatly supported the enthusiasm of all elements at the Surya Gemilang Mosque to be more active in preaching.
"Malang City is currently always peaceful, full of brotherhood, tolerance and can be a national barometer inseparable from the leadership of the mayor. Hopefully in the future the existence of this mosque can bring more blessings," Tobroni hoped.
Cooperation between the umara and ulama must be maintained to keep Malang City safe and peaceful as it is today. This kind of friendship must continue to be fostered to maintain the spirit of brotherhood and togetherness.
Also accompanying the Mayor of Malang were the Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, Dandim 0833 Malang City Lieutenant Colonel Arm Ferdian Primadhona, SE, M.Tr (Han), Danlanal Malang City, and the ranks of the Malang City Government. In this event, Mayor Sutiaji also handed over a grant fund to the Surya Gemilang Mosque amounting to Rp16 million. (cah/ram)
