Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Various efforts have been made by the Malang City Government to continue to reduce various problems in society, such as helping the underprivileged, suppressing Covid-19 and so that the community obeys government regulations. This time it was carried out by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji with Safari Ramadan at the Shirothol Mustaqim Mosque, Jalan Raya Bandulan Gang 1, Sukun, Malang City, Tuesday (27/04/2021) night.
After handing over Rp15 million in aid, the bespectacled man invited residents to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, he also appealed to the public not to go home in accordance with the central government's regulations. So that Covid-19 can continue to be suppressed. The aid was given not only for mosques, but also to help others such as orphans and the poor.
As many as five mosques in five sub-districts in this city, in the series of Safari Ramadan will alternately receive similar assistance. These mosques are also expected to be able to solve various problems in society, such as for places of study, distribution of assistance and as places of learning.
"So that the mosque is not only a place of worship, but must also contribute to the welfare and education of the community and this is where the active role of the mosque administrators is very important," said Mayor Sutiaji who was accompanied by Deputy Mayor of Malang Sofyan Edi Jarwoko.
"What is our duty, sharing with the mosque administrators and the administrators should also inform and educate their congregations to do what is in the interests of the community. I often say that the mosque is not only for mahdhah worship, such as prayer," explained the number one person in the Malang City Government.
He further explained how a mosque can implement every prayer that is done into its life. For example, thinking about orphans, thinking about the less fortunate regarding health, about schools and others.
During activities like this, a number of department heads are also involved, such as the Head of the Transportation Department, the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department, the Head of the Environmental Department, the President Director of Perumda Tugu Tirta and others. So that if there are complaints or questions from residents regarding services from the ranks of the Malang City Government, they can be handled immediately and properly. (say/ram)
